Our story
Every temple town in Rayalaseema has the same street: bells at the arch, the shops of silk and brass, and at the end, the smell of a dosa roasting in ghee. We grew up walking it — in Kadapa, on the way to the temple, stopping for a karam dosa on the way back. Gudi Gantalu brings that street indoors.
The dosa here is the thick, fluffy, pizza-style dosa of our home — naturally fermented, roasted slowly in ghee on a low flame, spread with erra karam and the bombai chutney Suneetha makes herself. The idli upma is the one that sold out every morning when we first cooked for Hyderabad in 2020. The coffee is pulled the Kumbakonam way: fresh decoction, degree strength, brass dabara.
Suneetha’s recipes — the batter, the karam, the chutneys, the podi — are made only in our own central kitchen and cooked by masters she trained. So the taste is the same in every Gudi Gantalu Tiffin Room, and nowhere else.
The street you walk through to reach the kitchen is her other love: the Divine & Fashion Store — pattu sarees, idols, silver pooja articles, and the gudi gantalu themselves. Everything you pass is for sale. Mana Samskruti, Mana Sampradayam — our culture, our tradition — is not a slogan here; it is the floor plan.
